Semliki Wildlife Reserve

Cradling Uganda’s oldest and practically untouched forest, the beautiful Semliki Wildlife Reserve is the place to experience real wilderness. As you crunch your way through the woodland that creeps up the Rift Valley wall, there are flying squirrels, pygmy antelopes and bats all ready to give you a jump. Other inhabitants include olive baboons, colobus monkeys and communities of elephants and chimps.

Meanwhile, on Lake Albert and the crocodile-laced Semliki River, birders will be bowled over by the variety of birds, including the distinctive shoebill stork.
