Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Oliver’s Camp is in the ultra-wild southern part of Tarangire National Park, surrounded by vast wildlife-filled landscapes.

Rooms at Oliver's Camp

There are just 10 luxury tents at the camp, raised on platforms to make the most of the views over the teeming marshes (birdwatchers in particular will be keen to get their binoculars out!). They are covered by traditional thatched roofs, while the interiors are spacious and full of character, with comfortable beds with headboards hand-carved from African mahogany, plush armchairs and patterned carpets. The private bathrooms come with an outdoor shower, and you can relax on your private veranda and enjoy the vistas.

Food & Drink

In the morning, wake up to a delicious breakfast of bacon and eggs, and in the evening, you can relax in the lounge tent or by the fireplace and enjoy a hearty home-cooked dinner featuring local ingredients (and there are also weekly traditional barbecues).

Facilities

Sink into one of the comfortable armchairs in the library tent, or sit around the campfire with fellow campers and guides and do some stargazing.

Activities at Oliver's Camp

Tarangire National Park is home to elephants, buffaloes, leopards and lions, as well as prolific birdlife – and there’s no adrenaline rush quite like going out in search of them. Safaris are conducted in your private vehicle with an experienced guide, and you can choose when you would prefer to go on safari - but usually it’s best to go out early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

We also highly recommend enjoying a guided walk with your ranger, into the heart of the Africa bush, tracking the local wildlife – or to experience the epic landscapes from above, how about taking to the skies in a hot-air balloon?
