Hotel Overview

sense of place

Set on a sheep, cattle and wheat farm along the Western Cape.

rooms at Kersefontein Guest Farm

In keeping with the public rooms, the en suite bedrooms have been decorated and furnished with period antiques from the farm’s attics. They are spread across several outbuildings, which have been expertly converted into Victorian-style rooms and suites, and feature rustic four poster beds, wood-beamed ceilings, vintage dressing tables and brass chandeliers.

food and drink

Sat at the communal 19th century dining table, you’ll be served a feast of South Africa fare at breakfast, sourced from the local area - the wild boar, homemade bread, butter and honey are all taken from the farm itself. After your evening meal (dinners are available at the farm on request), you can retire to the onsite Turn & Slip pub, which used to be the bakery. The dimly lit lamps, sofas and illustrations of aircraft lining the walls of the pub are the ideal backdrop for an evening relaxing after a day in the outdoors.

facilities

There are no TVs and no WiFi; however, this is only adds to the charm of the farm. With minimal connection to the outside world, you can catch up on some reading in the library or relax in the living room.

Activities at Kersefontein Farm

Rewarding the adventurous, take a boat ride along the Berg River to see thousands of waterfowl settled in the banks or race across the surrounding landscape on horseback. The farm is filled with cattle, horses and pigs, and you’re welcome to join in with daily routines, including milking the cows in the barns or herding the sheep.
