Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Disguised amongst towering rounded boulders, with incredible views out across the Aba Huab valley desert, Camp Kipwe is surrounded by natural beauty and intamacy.

Rooms at Camp Kipwe

The rooms are all tucked between the boulders that form the backdrop to the lodge, giving them a very unique feel. They are wonderfully spacious and comfortable, with outdoor bathrooms also built around the boulders. Private terraces are found at the front of each room, the ideal place to relax in the afternoons. For those looking for an added touch of luxury and extra space we recommend upgrading to the Kipwe Suite.

Food & Drink

Despite the remote location, the food here is outstanding, with a huge variety of fresh vegetables, grilled meats and refreshing salads on offer. The bar area offers superb views out across the surrounding plains and is an especially popular place to congregate with fellow guests for sundowner drinks.

Facilities

Relax in the spacious main part of the lodge and enjoy the superb service for which Kipwe is renowned. The refreshing pool is a very popular spot to relax in the afternoons and take in the view, with staff always on hand to serve drinks.

Activities

The camp has easy access to the historic petroglyphs and rock formations at Twyfelfontein, which you can either do a self-drive to visit them or go with one of the guides from the lodge. We definitely recommend the guided trips in to the desert to search for desert-adapted elephant which can be found searching for water in the network of dry river beds.
