Kicheche Mara Camp

Location: Masai Mara | Kenya

As safari lovers ourselves, we know there are a few essential ingredients for the perfect bush camp. Great game is a given, but experienced and entertaining guides and a warm atmosphere are also important. Kicheche Mara Camp ticks all of these boxes. Low on glitz, high on charm, and in some of the best game viewing country in the world, this is an Exsus Masai Mara favourite.
Perfect forPhotographers and bush lovers.
In the knowOne of Kicheche’s owners is a photographer, so guides are particularly clued up on their guests’ photographic needs. A politely dropped hint about light metres and best angles is normally well worth listening to!

Rooms at Kicheche Mara Camp

The eight spacious fully insect-proof tents are comfortably furnished with proper beds, bedside tables, luggage racks and rugs. Bathrooms are ensuite and are equipped with dressers, showers and flushing toilets. There are canvas director’s chairs on the veranda and hammocks slung between nearby trees to relax in. Kicheche Mara Camp has a wonderfully wild feel, and game wanders freely through the camp, so don`t be surprised if you bump into a stray wildebeest outside your tent!

Food and facilities

Staying in a bush camp doesn’t mean compromising on comfort. The food and service are first class, as are the warmth and experience of Kicheche’s staff. Meals are jolly affairs, eaten by candlelight around communal tables. Guests compare the adventures of the day and stargaze long into the night.

Activities at Kicheche Mara Camp

Early morning and late afternoon are the most productive hours for game drives and customised 4WD vehicles give everyone a perfect view. Other activities on offer include walking safaris, visits to Maasai villages (normally there is an extra charge for this which goes to the community) and visits to a local school (in term time only).
