Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Enasoit sits in the shadow of Mount Kenya in the beautiful Laikipia Plateau, a lovely area of plains and hills home to a rich and diverse population of wildlife, including iconic African game like lions, zebras, rhinos and giraffes.

Rooms at Enasoit

The camp’s six tented cottages combine luxury and rusticity, with a canvas-and-thatch exterior propped up by rugged beams of local wood. The rooms feature fireplaces, verandas overlooking the bush where you can relax on comfy sofas and take in the view, and cosy seating areas, as well as plush double beds. Staying in the wilderness doesn’t mean there has to be any compromise on comfort, and the bathrooms feature hot water and high-pressure showers. Enasoit also has three Pool Houses, two with double bedrooms and one thatched Pool House with a sitting room and dining room.

Food & drink

Like everything at the camp, the food has a sustainable, local focus, and many vegetables and herbs are grown in Enasoit's garden, while meat and other products come from local farmers and producers. Ease yourself into each day with coffee on your veranda, before heading to the colonial-style mess tent for a hearty full English breakfast - or, if you prefer something lighter, a healthy bowl of fruit or cereal. Lunch can be enjoyed here too, or have a picnic packed for you to take on your adventures.

At the end of the day, retire to the camp for sundowners and canapés before a delicious dinner, with an ever-changing menu of traditional food based on fresh seasonal ingredients.

Facilities

Despite the camp’s remote location, there are a range of wellness treatments and massages on offer, with a spectacular added bonus: the sight of big game going about their business in the background while you relax. There’s also a lovely outdoor pool, which is another great spot to enjoy some wildlife watching.

Activities at Enasoit

It goes without saying that adventures in the great outdoors are top of the agenda here. Game walks and day and night-time drives, guided by expert rangers, will see you exploring the bush and spotting the animals that call it home, including lions, elephants, black rhinos, zebras, giraffes and Kenya’s last population of African wild dogs. You can also go horse riding, while birdwatching drives through the cedar forests are another favourite activity. Talks from wildlife experts back at the camp will help you better understand this beautiful and precious ecosystem.
