Now it shares its location with the local pod of hippos on the edge of a lagoon in the Okavango Delta where six luxurious tents sit under the shade of the indigenous hardwood trees. The camp still specialises in elephant safaris and during your stay at Abu you can get to know the resident heard, learn all about these fascinating, intelligent animals and take part in their daily routine.

The six en-suite rooms that Abu Camp offers are all designed to be in keeping with its beautiful natural surroundings. Rooms are spacious, airy and are built of raised platforms. Each room is fitted with stylish interiors, including inside and outside showers and private viewing deck with views across the lagoon with tree shaded viewing areas.

Meals at Abu Camp are served in the open plan dining area, meals are often influenced using local and seasonal produce. Lunch can be served in the bush for those guests who wish to do a full day of adventuress safari.

As the resident herd of elephants play such a dominant role in the concession, the majority of the activities that Abu Camp offers are centred around elephant encounters. Activities with the elephants include walking, riding and gaining a greater understanding of the heard. Activities in the morning and afternoon also include game drives, motor boat trips and mokoros. However, the lounge, plunge pool, gym and library are the perfect places to relax in camp.
