2 nightsBOGOTA

Fly to Bogota before transferring to the up-and-coming B.O.G (a slick and contemporary Design hotel, which we can assure you is far more romantic than it sounds!) After all the wedding madness, you’ll probably want to just chill at the start of your honeymoon which is why we’ve given you a couple of nights here to just relax and get into the Latin swing.

During the day, we’ll take you straight to Bogota’s best bits, including the colonial quarter of La Candeleria, with its cobbled streets and striking baroque architecture, before a visit to the eerily beautiful salt cathedral at Zipaquirá. Spend your last evening sipping cocktails by B.O.G.’s fabulous rooftop pool, before flying on to the coffee region the following day.

3 nightsZONA CAFETERA

Having flown to Armenia airport, it’s a bumpy drive deep into the heart of the lush, fertile Zona Cafetera - passing trucks piled high with plantains - before arriving at the charming, colonial-style finca, Hacienda San Jose. This is where you’ll really start to fall in love with Colombia as you share the breathtaking natural beauty of the coffee region. Wake up on your first morning to wonderfully exotic smells, with banana trees all around you and hummingbirds flitting to and from your balcony, before heading out with your guide to the explore the undulating landscapes of the Valle de Cocora.

As well as discovering the humid climate and volcanic terrain in which the coffee is produced, you’ll trek amongst the world’s tallest wax palms - some of which can reach up to 600m in height and are worshipped by indigenous people - whilst looking up to see yet more exotic birds fluttering in the forest canopy. After a relaxed lunch of freshly-caught trout, you may wish to do the next portion of the trek on horseback; heading to the colonial town of Salento, where you’ll relax with locals beneath the colourful balconies and drink beers in one of the sleepy bars.

The final day includes a visit to a working coffee finca where you’ll not only see how the beans are farmed, but get to muck in with the whole process - drying, sorting, and using the grinding machines - before toasting your honeymoon with the best coffee you’ve ever tasted.

2 nightsCARTAGENA

Fly from Armenia via Bogota to Cartagena where you’ll spend two nights at La Passion. Romantics will love this quirky and historic hotel, and from your flower-trailed balcony you’ll have your first glimpse of this colourful colonial city.

Hugging the Caribbean Sea, the historic walled city of Cartagena is quite simply beautiful, and one of our favourite places to begin is at the Iglesia de La Popa where you’ll have panoramic views over the domed rooftops. Your romantic ramble will then take you to the fortress which was built in honour of the poet, Don Luis Carlos López: on through the charming Bovadas archways, before relaxing with a coffee beneath Cartagena’s oldest church, and soaking up the culture amidst Fernando Botero’s famously curvy sculptures.

In the evenings, you can take a horse and carriage to Cartagena’s many amazing seafood restaurants, before losing yourselves amongst the winding alleys and buzzing salsa bars.

Baru Island, Cartagena, Colombia

4 nightsBARU ISLAND

From Cartagena's Caribbean coast, it's a short boat ride to Baru Island, where you'll stay at Hotel Las Islas. This stylish eco-hideaway, which has bungalows perched on the private beach and nestled in the rainforest canopy, and is a real hidden gem: perfect for honeymooners who want to want to spend their entire time in flip-flops. Wake up to little else but the sound of waves, and pad straight onto the beach in the morning.

If you can drag yourself away, hop in a speedboat to explore the neighbouring islands: tucking in to a lazy lunch of coconut shrimp, and trekking amongst the protected national parks where you'll find wonderfully wild and secluded beaches. Top off the perfect Colombian honeymoon with a magical night-time dive, before transferring back to Cartagena and flying to Bogota where you'll catch your flight home.
