Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Adjacent to Tambopata National Reserve, Southern Peru, the Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica is located deep within the Amazon, surrounded by over 540 species of bird and is inspired by Ese’Eja culture.

Rooms at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica

Spread out through the lush rainforest, the 35 wooden cabanas are inspired by indigenous design traditions and built from natural materials. Modern amenities are plentiful, however, including ceiling fans, hot water, and organic bath products. More luxurious still, the suites take the form of self-contained houses, with river views, private plunge pool and terrace, outdoor jungle showers and a siesta lounge with hammock. For a truly stunning experience, the tree house set in the forest canopy provides total privacy and seclusion.

Food & Drink

The ENA spa, on the banks of the Madre de Dios river, uses natural and traditional spa products for a truly spiritual experience.  Meals, made from fresh produce and including healthy salads and home made breads, are served in the two-storey Amazon pavilion, the heart of the hotel. Here you’ll also find a comfy bar and lounge area to relax in.

Facilities

In addition to the private plunge pool, there is a spa; utilising ingredients harvested locally from the rainforest.

Activities at Inkaterra Reserva Amazonica

The hotel features one of Latin America’s largest tree canopy walkways, comprising a system of towers and hanging bridges high in the forest canopy. Carefully camouflaged, it allows guests to watch and interact with species that were once only known to biologists. The reserve also features the ‘Anaconda walk’, a series of raised platforms at ground level to make exploring the forest floor easy. Guests can also take to the river for a sunset or half-day cruise to explore deeper into the amazing Amazon jungle, accompanied by an expert bilingual guide.
