In the know
  • There is no Wi-Fi in the tents, giving you the chance to switch off and reconnect with nature and no air conditioning as it is cooler in the highlands than on the coast.
  • You will need to bring: your passport, binoculars, flashlight and batteries, camera, insect repellent, sun protection, lightweight long trousers and long-sleeved shirt for hikes, shorts, short-sleeved shirts, bathing suit, hiking boots, sandals, windbreaker, small day pack, plastic bags to protect camera etc. from rain, sea sickness medication (as advised by your doctor) and cash (there are no ATMs on the island).

Scalesia Galapagos Lodge is located in the highlands of Isabela Island, approximately 20 minutes from Puerto Villamil. It is at the heart of 16 hectares of private land in a beautiful forest, with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean.

Rooms at Scalesia Galapagos Lodge

Throughout your stay at Scalesia Lodge you will be staying in one of the 16 luxury tents, with a king-sized bed or twin beds which come complete with a bathroom with tempered glass showers, and a terrace for taking in the beautiful views. The tents are pitched in the heart of the jungle and in close proximity to the Pacific Ocean so you can enjoy reconnecting with nature and switch off from the outside world.

Food & Drink

Tuck into delicious breakfasts and dinners at the restaurant on site and during your daily tours around the Galapagos, a boxed lunch will be provided, which you can enjoy in spectacular settings such as at the foot of a volcano.

There are three different living areas for reading, relaxation and socialising with other guests who are also on this wildlife expedition with you.

Activities at Scalesia Galapagos Lodge

Choose from a wealth of activities from boat rides where you can spot sea lions, iguanas, manta rays and reef sharks to a picnic at Sierra Negra, one of the most active volcanoes on the archipelago. The lodge also offers mountain biking, kayaking, scuba diving and surfing.

Scalesia Galapagos Lodge can be reached via 2.5-hour flight from Quito or Guayaquil in Ecuador to Baltra, followed by a 30-minute flight from Baltra to Puerto Villamil.
