Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Golden Bay Hotel & Spa sits on the northwest coast of San Cristobal, the easternmost of the Galapagos Islands. The hotel is in the town of Puerto Baquerizo Moreno, the capital of the islands, which is home to the beautiful beach Playa Mann as well as decent shops and restaurants. The beautiful volcanic landscapes, though, are the main attraction.

Rooms at Golden Bay Hotel & Spa

The 21 rooms and suites are bright and breezy in design, with whitewashed walls and floor-to-ceiling windows diverting the attention to the stunning views of the ocean outside. Deluxe Waterfront Rooms have private balconies overlooking the bay, while Deluxe Garden View Rooms face inward over the hotel’s peaceful garden.

Food & Drink

Exquisitely presented gourmet cuisine is on offer at Golden Bay’s restaurant, with flavours fusing Ecuadorian and international cuisine. Breakfast is a hearty affair, with fresh fruit juices, homemade bread and a range of fresh and cooked options to start the day. Lunch and dinner combine the flavours of the mainland and the islands; the restaurant’s speciality, ceviches Galapagueños, is a must-try.

At the Panoramic Terrace Snack Bar, a range of pizzas and lighter bites are on offer alongside excellent cocktails, which you can enjoy while taking in views of the sunset over the Galapagos.

Facilities

At Golden Bay’s luxurious spa, a range of wellness treatments are on offer which are perfect for winding down after a day’s swimming or snorkelling. The hotel’s beautiful outdoor pool, on a terrace overlooking the ocean, is a fantastic place to while away an afternoon or to watch the sun go down. The hotel is family-friendly and a great place for kids to stay, and has good access for disabled guests.

Activities at Golden Bay Hotel & Spa

The star attraction in the Galapagos Islands is the wildlife, with many species living here and nowhere else in the world. The nature begins right on your doorstep, with the beach outside the hotel home to a colony of sea lions; other species that live nearby include frigate birds and marine iguanas.

Boat trips from the hotel will take you to nearby sites like the Kicker, a jagged volcanic rock formation famed for diving and snorkelling.
