Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Amazon, home to the world’s most famous river and rainforest, needs no introduction. It’s an area of incredible natural diversity; more than one third of the world’s known species live in the Amazon rainforest. Sadly, though, much of their habitat is shrinking at an alarming rate. The MV Anakonda is unprecedented for a cruise boat in its levels of comfort and luxury.

Rooms on the MV Anakonda

A far cry from the cramped accommodations found on many boat cruises, MV Anakonda’s 18 suites are very generously sized; some feature two beds and separate seating areas. The floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views and open out onto private balconies, from which you can take in river views. The spacious, ensuite bathrooms feature Jacuzzis.

Food & Drink

In the boat’s spacious dining hall, delicious Ecuadorian and international cuisine is served up in an informal environment, where you can enjoy swapping stories of your adventures with fellow guests. During excursions, your dining experience will vary depending on your activities, from hearty packed lunches to Amazon-style barbecues at riverside campsites.

Facilities

The MV Anakonda features several communal social spaces for guests to relax in, including a reading room, a bar-salon, and an al fresco lounge. There’s also a solarium and an outdoor Jacuzzi, while from the observation deck you can enjoy panoramic views of the Amazon River and the rainforest beyond. A range of spa treatments is also available onboard. There’s even a boutique store, where you can pick up a souvenir of your trip.

Activities on the MV Anakonda

Needless to say, a trip on the MV Anakonda is all about experiencing the natural beauty of the Amazon. A range of excursions is on offer on water and land, with three canoes and ten kayaks onboard. On canoe trips up the river, you can hope to spot pink river dolphins, squirrel monkeys and caiman, among many other animals. You'll also see colourful tropical birds.

On dry land, guided nature trails will see you navigating treks through the thick jungle of the Amazon rainforest. Cultural activities include a visit to the Sani Warmi Kichwa Interpretation Center, where you’ll meet Kichwa women who will teach you about their people’s culture, cuisine, and arts and crafts.
