Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Thanks to its remote location, a 1.5-hour drive from Santa Marta (and no Wi-Fi), this is the perfect spot to switch off and reconnect with nature. An English-speaking host (also a nature and trekking expert) will be there to welcome you, as well as a chef and housekeeper.

Rooms at Casa Galavanta

At the end of an action-packed day, unwind in front of the living room’s fireplace or spend your evenings by the fire pit on the large deck. After a restful night, wake up to the morning calls of the rainforest from the comfort of your room - with its plush beds, wooden-beamed roofs, colourful hammocks and panoramic windows with beautiful views, the accommodation here is the epitome of jungle chic.

Food & Drink

Your very own personal chef will be on hand to prepare three gourmet meals per day. In addition to that, your kitchen will also be stocked with plenty of snacks, fresh local fruits, fruit juices, coffee and tea. For the days when you’re out and about on excursions or exploring the rainforests and coffee fields, you’ll get a picnic lunch to take with you.

You will be well looked after by your private host, chef and housekeeper, who will make your stay here all the more memorable. The accommodation is also kitted out with DIRECTV access, DVDs and a library.

Activities at Casa Galavanta

Explore the cloud forest with a range of adventures, from waterfall picnics to guided nature treks that will introduce you to the area’s flora and fauna. Depending on your particular interests, these walks can be led by expert birdwatchers or professional photographers. Coffee aficionados can get hands on with the coffee harvest (between November and March) and take a tour of Hacienda La Victoria to learn about the coffee-making process and taste some of Colombia’s finest coffee.
