Antumalal

Located a couple of kilometres from the adventure capital of Pucón, Antumalal is set on the shores of Lake Villarrica, in expansive gardens with waterfalls and a lakeside pebble beach. It is surrounded by 12 peaceful acres of wooded parkland, and overlooked by the towering and very active Villarrica volcano.

The accommodation showcases an iconic 1950s Bauhaus-style, and all rooms have beautiful lake views. There are 13 rooms, three suites (including family suites), three chalets and a Lake House. They have cosy fireplaces and are fitted with native wood and stone walls and furniture, locally-made linen and plush sheepskin rugs, in harmony with the stunning setting.

The Parque Antumalal restaurant focuses on using seasonal ingredients, fish from the lake and organic vegetables and herbs from its own greenhouse and gardens, resulting in original Chilean cuisine that has become one of the star attractions at the hotel. Dine on the large terrace which faces the lake. 

We love the spa, which is built into the natural lakeside rock, and has an indoor and outdoor pool, a sauna, a hydro-massage pool and a wide range of massages and therapies, all accompanied by amazing views.

While this is a perfect place to relax, it's also an excellent base for adventure - take your pick from boat trips on the lake, trekking to hidden lagoons, exploring the nearby volcanoes, visiting the hot springs, white water rafting, dog-sledding, birdwatching and fly fishing, to name a few.
