2 nightsSANTIAGO

Fly into Santiago and check into The Singular, one of the city’s newest places to stay, which embraces the heritage of the historic Lastarria neighbourhood it sits in while being a thoroughly modern 21st century hotel. Relax and unwind with a swim or a spa treatment, and wake up to a delicious breakfast before exploring this colourful city: shop downtown, stroll around the parks, go on a bicycle tour, drop into the nearby museums and arts centres or simply relax in a cafe with a slice of que que (coffee cake). As night falls, head to The Singular’s restaurant for exquisite Chilean cuisine, washed down with delicious local wines, followed by a visit to the rooftop bar for a cocktail and stunning views over the city and the surrounding Andes mountains.

4 nightsATACAMA DESERT

A flight from Santiago brings you to the beautiful Atacama Desert and its hidden riches: marvel at the otherworldly lunar landscapes, see the expansive salt flats, catch the flocks of flamingoes in flight at Chaxa Lagoon and watch the Tatio geysers erupt at sunrise. Hike or cycle around the mountains, gorges and the high plateau, alongside rivers and hot springs. Your base for four nights will be Noi Casa Atacama, which has a pool perfect for a refreshing dip in the middle of the desert, and buffet breakfasts bursting with local, organic produce, including breads, hams and cheeses.

3 nightsCENTRAL VALLEY

After experiencing the desert, fly back to Santiago before heading to Central Valley and the rolling vineyards and lush green countryside of Rosario Valley. La Casona at Matetic Vineyards is, as its name suggests, right in the heart of wine country.

This region's organic wine is produced from grapes grown on mineral-rich salt plains by the Pacific Ocean, and there are plenty of opportunities to sample world-renowned vintages while you’re here. As well as fresh seafood, enjoy an inclusive half bottle of wine per person per night under the dining room’s chandeliers, and in the evening, relax with another glass under the stars on your private terrace.

Further afield, see where poet Pablo Neruda lived at Isla Negra, or visit the port city of Valparaiso or the beaches of Viña del Mar.

From here you’ll make your way back to Santiago for your flight home.
