Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Jaguar House Boat sits on the Paraguay River in the Pantanal’s Taiama Reserve, in the state of Mato Grosso. The boat is moored on the north side of Taiama Island.

Rooms at Jaguar House Boat

There are nine comfortable air-conditioned en suite cabins, with bunk beds.  Electricity from the mainland avoids the need for a noisy generator, ensuring a good night’s sleep on the river.

Food & Drink

After a day’s safari, refuel with local specialities in the restaurant, and enjoy tasty barbecues on deck, washed down with some cold beer – it’s on tap.

Activities at Jaguar House Boat

The smaller aluminium boats are ideal for exploring, with silent motors that increase the chances of spotting wildlife. After breakfast onboard, enjoy daily safari trips along the river and around the panoramic landscapes, including islands and lakes, accompanied by an English-speaking naturalist guide. Keep an eye out for jaguars - the Taiama Reserve has the biggest jaguar population in the Pantanal, and they can often be spotting along the riverbanks as they come to drink.
The Pantanal is also home to caiman, capybaras, tapirs, monkeys, anacondas, giant river otters and a wide variety of birds, including macaws and jabiru storks.
Back onboard the Jaguar House Boat, there is a TV and a DVD player, or relax on deck and take in the views.
