Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Tucked away amongst 27,000 acres of open fields, massive trees, beautiful lakes, and herds of animals - in southern Pantanal.

Rooms at Fazenda Barranco Alto

The five en suite rooms are simple yet comfortable with air-conditioning, private balconies and traditional décor. If you are travelling as a couple, opt for the king-sized bedroom or if travelling with kids, go for the family room with bunk beds.

Food & Drink

Meals here are social occasions, where you’ll dine around a large communal table. Much of the produce is sourced from the ranch itself, and you can expect plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, healthy salads and tasty home cooked fare.

Facilities

When you are not out in the wilderness spotting the incredible flora and fauna, you can relax in the hammock, which swing beneath the shade of a large mango tree.

Activities at Fazenda Barranco Alto

It is the wealth of activities available and the rare animal sightings that make the Fazenda Barranco Alto so special. Climb into a boat, canoe or kayak to explore the wildlife-packed waterways, saddle up a horse to gallop through the incredible landscape or go on a walking safari to track the animals you might have missed on a 4x4 game drive. During your stay, it’ll hard to miss the scarlet and endangered hyacinth macaws in the treetops and though usually elusive in other parts of South America, you’ll have a good chance of sighting giant otters, anacondas, tapirs, anteaters, pumas and jaguars.
