The hotel sits in over 1,000 acres of countryside, including an operational organic farm, rivers, lakes and expansive views from the mountaintops. The traditional 1850s casarao (main house) is the hotel's centrepiece and the rooms and suites are in three charming farmhouses, with views of the valley and forested hillsides.
Perfect forFazenda Catucaba offers both relaxation and immersion in the great outdoors, alongside the benefits of homegrown, sustainable food from the farm, including coffee and cachaca. Nothing here disturbs nature's peace - including no TV or internet - allowing for true relaxation. This is a place to enjoy the rich local culture and to hike or ride in the stunning nearby valleys bordering the state park.

Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Fazenda Catucaba is set on a beautiful coffee estate between Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.

Rooms at Fazenda Catucaba

There are rooms in the main house and in three lovely colonial-style villas - book a room or the whole villa. They each have a master suite and two large double rooms (accommodating up to seven people), with cosy fireplaces and terraces to relax on. There are also farmhouses dotted around the grounds of the fazenda.

Food & Drink

The freshest ingredients from the fertile ground around the hotel, cultivated with great care. Coffee of course, (from this region which once produced 90% of the world's production and ensured the prosperity of Sao Paulo State), milk and cheese for the morning, freshly cooked breads, typical pao de queijo, fruit pies, local recipes like stuffed duck with manioc, tasty salads, farm eggs, meat from our cows, jams and honey... In the evening you may enjoy a caipirinha with the fazenda’s very own organic sugar-cane cachaca and lemons around the fireplace, before a picanha, the local barbecue cut of beef.

The main house, surrounded by extensive grounds,  is the heart and features the main kitchen, dining rooms and reading room.

Activities at Fazenda Catucaba

The region around Catucaba is one of the most beautiful, well preserved and less well-known parts of Brazil. Whether you feel energetic or lazy, you will find everything you need in this extraordinarily rich natural environment which combines lakes, forests and mountains. Activities include horse riding, hiking, visits to waterfalls, swimming in lakes and rivers and river-rafting, as well as birdwatching, abseiling, canopying and tree climbing.
