Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas is the only hotel inside Iguazu National Park and is located alongside the famous Iguazu Falls, set in orchid-filled gardens.

Rooms at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas

The attractive colonial-style rooms and suites come with hardwood floors, walls of rich yellow, deep red and classic cream, artisan fabrics including rainforest-inspired curtains, and local art, with features including traditional azulejos painted tiles designed exclusively for the hotel, alongside lavish marble bathrooms.

Many have balconies overlooking the lush tropical forest, some have private pools, and some have panoramic views over the falls.

Food & Drink

There are two restaurants, the Ipé Grill by the pool, which offers succulent 'gaucho'-style meats and local and international buffets, and Itaipu, which offers a delicious Brazilian-fusion menu and has a charming veranda overlooking the falls. There’s plenty of fish on the menu as well as tasty local specialities. At sunset, sip caipirinhas on the terrace at Bar Tarobá while taking in the views and sounds of the falls and the birds.

Belmond Hotel das Cataratas has a large pool in the gardens, as well as a children's pool, tennis courts and a gym. If you prefer to take it easy, head to the blissful spa, which is nestled between the falls and the rainforest, whose treatments use natural ingredients inspired by the spectacular natural setting.

Activities at Belmond Hotel das Cataratas

There are activities galore on offer here, including rafting the river below the falls, abseiling and rappelling down the Iguazu gorge, exploring the rainforest with an expert eco-guide and rock and tree climbing. Enjoy private helicopter trips for spectacular views from above and bespoke speedboat tours beneath the falls. There are also numerous opportunities to explore the falls out of hours, when the park is closed to the public.
