There are eight characterful rooms at Fazenda do Engenho, all different but each demonstrating the same passion for detail and comfort, as well as history, local culture and art. All suites have king-sized beds with Egyptian cotton sheets, and come with iPod docks, armchairs, Havaiana flip flops and robes.

Food & Drink

The food in Minas Gerais is justifiably famous throughout Brazil and the hotel's restaurant showcases this regional cuisine using wonderful fresh local ingredients, with organic produce grown in the gardens. From breakfast to dinner, you’ll be invited to experience an array of delicious dishes prepared especially for you.

Facilities

At the spa, a variety of massages are available, which use exclusively-produced natural products. Other facilities include the home theatre, a sauna, a hydro-massage pool and a relaxation area close to the beautiful Engenho waterfall, featuring natural pools for swimming, a white-sand beach and sunloungers to relax on. Wake up to a morning yoga class - a perfect way to start the day. 

Activities at Reserva do Ibitipoca

Set off on foot, 4x4 or horseback (the stable has Mangalarga and Anglo-Arabian horses) to explore the extraordinary natural surroundings of waterfalls, caves, natural pools and mountains. There are 3,000 stunning hectares of private protected park to explore if you can tear yourself away from the hotel, the spa and the Engenho waterfall. There is also fishing, and you can visit the working farm or head to the neighbouring state park. You can also borrow the hotel's electric bikes and buggies.
