Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The area surrounding Vinas de Cafayate is visually stunning. In the foreground are carpets of rolling vineyards, with the hills of Cerro San Isidro rising in the background; stealing the scene, though, is the stunning Quebrada de Cafayate, a riot of multicoloured sandstone carved out by the Rio de las Conchas.

Rooms at Vinas de Cafayate

Rooms at Vinas de Cafayate are elegant and tastefully decorated, with tiled stone floors, dark wood beds and furnishings, and private balconies with seating areas. All the rooms boast stunning views, either over the rocky slopes of Cerro San Isidro or the vineyards and the stunning multicoloured valley of Quebrada de Cafayate.

Food & Drink

Gastronomy is very much the order of the day at Vinas de Cafayate, and at the hotel restaurant you’ll find a range of delicious Argentine and South American cuisine to accompany the world-class wine. Dishes include empanadas, veal, and of course mouthwatering steaks. Herbs and vegetables used in the food are grown in the hotel’s own organic garden.

The hotel’s lovely outdoor pool is perfect for blowing away the cobwebs in the likely event you enjoyed the wine a little bit too much the night before. There is also a cosy lounge, where you can curl up in front of the fireplace at the end of the day and enjoy a book or magazine from the well-stocked library.

Activities at Vinas de Cafayate

Wine steals the spotlight at Vinas de Cafayate, with a range of tastings on offer both at the estate and at other important wineries in the Cafayate region. If you can tear yourself away from the cellar, trips to local goat cheese farms are also on offer. A range of outdoor activities are also available in the region, from hiking the Calchaqui Estate to visiting the local historic village of San Carlos and the ancient ruins of Los Quilmes.
