Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Estancia Los Potreros is a working farm, sprawling across 6,500 acres in the Sierras Chicas hills, between the Pampas and the Andes, in a beautiful secluded reserve near Cordoba in central Argentina. The farm has a prize-winning herd of Aberdeen Angus cows, as well as an impressive number of horses. The estancia has been in the same family for four generations, and the passionate Begg family are on hand to ensure your stay is a memorable one.

Rooms at Estancia Los Potreros

The seven bedrooms are traditional yet comfortable, with individual flourishes, antique furniture and private bathrooms, with wood-burning stoves and open log fires to make them cosy on chillier nights. There is also a separate cottage with three rooms and a one-suite cottage with two bedrooms, ideal for families or small groups of friends.

Food & Drink

The chefs create hearty meals using organic, home-grown vegetables and home-reared beef from the estancia's working cattle ranch. They are essentially European in style with a hint of local cuisine, and are eaten ‘family style’ with all guests sitting down together. The estancia even has its ‘own label’ Argentine wine to accompany your food.

Facilities

Cool off after a busy day's riding in the outdoor swimming pool, or curl up in a hammock with a book.

Activities at Estancia Los Potreros

Guests are positively encouraged to feel part of the farm, with the main activity being horse riding. There is a mix of Criollos, polo ponies and Peruvian paso horses in a herd of over 80 well-loved riding horses, and you can learn to ride like the local gauchos (cowboys), with the chance to try your hand at polo too.

If you're not into horse riding, there is plenty to enjoy aside from horses. There is a multitude of excellent trails to explore on two feet, with countless opportunities to enjoy the wonderful views, hidden rock pools and local wildlife, as well as excellent birdwatching opportunities, while further afield there are three excellent golf courses, with mountain biking and even paragliding also on offer.

Meanwhile, foodies will be in heaven too - in addition to the irresistible food on offer each day, you can enjoy special chef's nights, wine tastings and delicious asados (Argentine barbecues).
