Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The estancia was founded by a Croatian pioneer almost 100 years ago, and has remained in the same family ever since; current owner Adolfo has been in charge for over 35 years, and the place has the feeling of a convivial family home.

Rooms at Nibepo Aike

The hostelry’s humble wood-and-metal exterior belies the elegance of its rooms, which feature wooden floors, carved pine furniture, and big, cosy beds. The hotel has ten generously sized guest rooms, which sleep a total of 22 people. All have en-suite bathrooms, and views over the ranch and the beauty of Los Glaciares beyond.

Food & Drink

In keeping with the rest of the ranch, food and drink is hearty, homely and traditional; most of the vegetables are grown on-site. The star of the show, though, is the ranch’s famous lamb, grilled on a traditional Patagonian cross stake. Food is prepared and enjoyed in a quinto, a traditional Argentinean barbeque area.

Facilities

The guest hostelry features a playroom, perfect for keeping kids occupied, and a cosy reading room next to a fireplace – great for curling up with a good book after a day’s hiking or riding out on the ranch.

Activities at Nibepo Aike

Nibepo Aike offers guests a rare chance to experience traditional rural life on a Patagonian estancia. From cattle branding and milking to sheep shearing, you’ll have the chance to get involved with every aspect, but of course there’s no obligation to be put to work. Various hiking and riding paths wait to be explored, leading to sites of great natural beauty such as the valley of the Cachorro River, the shores of the Argentino Lake, and the hillsides of Cerro Cristal.
