Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The lodge has a truly spectacular location, on the shores of the serene Lago del Desierto with the jagged peaks of the Andes in the background. From the lodge, you can spot Mt Fitz Roy, Mt Torre and the Vespignani Glacier. The surrounding countryside is covered in centuries-old beech forest, adding to the atmosphere of secluded serenity.

Rooms at Aguas Arriba Lodge

Aguas Arriba Lodge is home to just six rooms and suites, all of which have stunning views and a rustic style which reflects the natural world outside. They are entirely wood-panelled, from the floors to the ceiling beams. The two Fitz Roy rooms overlook the mountain of the same name, as well as the Lago del Desierto and Vespignani Glacier.

Food & Drink

Food at Aguas Arriba Lodge is home-cooked, traditional and hearty, with an emphasis on classic recipes and locally sourced, fresh ingredients. Much of the produce is grown in the hotel’s own gardens or reared on local farms; expect to enjoy simple but wonderfully prepared dishes such as grilled meat or fish with mountain vegetables. Tea, fruit and sweet treats are also available for guests to enjoy all day.

Aguas Arriba Lodge’s library is the perfect place to come back to after a day’s hiking or biking in the fresh air, a cosy, inviting space with huge comfy sofas and a roaring log fire. The wide selection of books includes adventure titles, travel books and magazines, and volumes on Patagonian history, culture, and wildlife.
