Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The ranch which surrounds the hotel is a working estancia which has been operational since 1909 and sprawls at the foot of the Andes Mountains. The cattle on the ranch are herded to this day by traditional gauchos, who will also help, along with the hotel’s expert guides, ensure you get the most out of your excursions.

Rooms at Estancia Tipiliuke

Estancia Tipiliuke's nine guest rooms are extremely comfortable and have a quaint, charming design in the style of a traditional country house. The rooms have lovely wooden floorboards and whitewashed, wood-panelled walls and ceilings; all rooms are en suite, while guests share the use of a cosy living room and bar.

Food & Drink

Head chef Eva is a Patagonian local who has decades of experience in whipping up traditional regional country-style dishes. Local fish, of course, features heavily on the menu, accompanied by fresh, kaleidoscopic salads. Lunch often takes the form of sumptuous grilled meats prepared on an asado barbecue, and served in the garden when the weather allows. Cookery lessons are occasionally available, so you can learn to make some of the dishes back home.

Facilities

After a day's adventures breathing in the country air, there's no better place to soothe those tired muscles than the hotel's wood-burning sauna. Massage treatments are also available on request.

Activities at Estancia Tipiliuke

Estancia Tipiliuke is acclaimed by those in the know as one of the world's top fly-fishing destinations, as it has 17 miles of the best trout waters anywhere on Earth. The expert guides will help you to get the most out of your experience. The estancia is also home to a stable of horses, and genuine gaucho cowboys will lead you on rides through the beautiful countryside. You can even try your hand at rounding up the cattle with the gauchos!

Hiking and mountain biking are also great ways to get to know the environment. It's also possible to visit the Lanin volcano and there's golf nearby, too. Birdwatchers will love this part of the world, and can hope to spot buzzard eagles, burrowing parrots, parakeets and swans among many other birds.
