Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Greg Mortimer cruises around spectacular and remote parts of the world, from the far-flung coastlines and islands of Scotland, Iceland, Ireland, Greenland and Arctic Sweden, to Costa Rica, as well as the depths of Antarctica. It is smaller than many other cruise ships, allowing access to more remote areas that bigger ships cannot reach, and offering more bespoke small-group adventures.

Rooms aboard Greg Mortimer

The luxurious rooms and suites are designed with comfort in mind, featuring a calming blue and neutral colour palette inspired by nature, and they have an open and airy feel, with soft furnishings to help you relax. Rest on the large, cosy beds, fitted with plush bedding and throws, and catch the unmissable, ever-changing views through your large bay window or on your private balcony. The rooms are available with either double or twin beds, and there are also interconnecting staterooms for those seeking more space.

Food & Drink

Start your expedition off with a warming welcoming drink with the captain and expedition team, featuring complimentary beverages and cocktail appetisers, and followed up with a delicious three-course meal. Prepare yourself for the day ahead with a delicious breakfast while embracing the scenic views of the open water. Savour hearty meals in the open seating area, all freshly prepared and with a different menu daily.

Swap stories and photos with fellow guests while lingering over a drink in the bars and lounges, whose large windows frame the beautiful, ever-changing views of the sea and wildlife.

Facilities

Spend a peaceful afternoon in the library, featuring stunning floor-to-ceiling windows and a wide range of reading materials including travel journals and guidebooks to read up on the day's destinations. Relax in the spa, which has two outside Jacuzzis offering incredible views of the surroundings, or visit the sauna, a must after a chilling polar plunge.

Enjoy educational and entertaining lectures from naturalists and local specialists in the state-of-the-art lecture facilities available aboard, aimed to deepen your understanding of the region you are visiting.

Activities aboard Greg Mortimer

The ship's expert guides and impressive staff to guest ratio will ensure you make the most of your trip. The activity programme is second to none, with a wide range of personalised, exhilarating adventures at sea and on land, allowing you to connect with your inner adventurer and enjoy adrenaline-fuelled activities.

There are four Zodiac launching platforms especially designed to make access on and off the ship easy. Experience the majestic scenery as you paddle between ice floes, icebergs, and penguin rookeries.

Go snowshoeing, ski touring, polar snorkelling and diving, camp out on the ice and even brave a polar plunge into the icy waters of the Arctic and Antarctica! Delve into the depths on a polar snorkelling trip or a scuba dive, available to experienced divers, and explore the unique world of ice and glaciers, and come face to face with unique marine life. Photography tours will enable you to take extraordinary photos of the local wildlife and marine life, from penguins to whales, with the aid of a photography expert, who will help you capture memorable moments.

Aurora Expeditions is committed to responsible travel. Leading experts, scientists and researchers are hosted on the expeditions, to share their passion and expertise with guests and bring the destinations to life.
