Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Encompassing 5,000 acres of Utah’s Wasatch Mountains and sitting on the slopes of the might Mount Timpanagos, Sundance is a beautiful, forested mountain resort.

Rooms at Sundance Mountain Resort

The rooms and suites at Sundance are split between the main lodge and a collection of freestanding ‘mountain homes’. Mandan, River Run and Pines suites are cosy and rustic, hewn from wood and stone and located either adjacent to the Sundance Village or on the bank of a mountain stream. Mountain homes vary between 3 and 7 bedrooms, and each is unique: Sunstone offers beautiful views of Mount Timpanagos from its two-level deck balconies, Balsam includes a cosy ‘pillow loft’, and the vast Mountain Spring sleeps seven and includes a gym, billiards room and foosball table.

Food & drink

Dining options are plentiful here. In the Tree Room, you can enjoy mountain cuisine surrounded by art from Robert Redford’s private collection, or enjoy hearty, simple cuisine at the Foundry Grill. Light bites are available at Creekside, while the Owl Bar, restored from an 1890s haunt of Butch Cassidy’s Hole in the Wall Gang, is an evocative place to enjoy a drink and some live music.

Facilities

The spa is all about connecting with this area’s rich natural history, and the wooden décor and Native American artwork should help you do just that. A range of natural products and treatment options are available to help you recharge after a day in the mountains.

Activities at Sundance Mountain Resort

Sundance is a paradise for lovers of the great outdoors year-round. In the winter, you can ski and snowboard, and in the summer, bike, hike, horseback ride and fish. Scenic lift rides to the top of Ray’s Summit are also available throughout the summer months, either during the day for stunning views of the resort or under the full moon for a romantic starlit evening.

Back at the resort, the hotel has its very own art studio, where you can enjoy workshops in jewellery making, wheel-thrown pottery, painting and printmaking, among other things.
