Hotel Overview

Where

In secluded southwestern Colorado, an hour from the ski town of Telluride, on the banks of the river Dolores.

Rooms at Dunton Hot Springs

The resort is made up of 12 cosy log cabins and one all-season tent, fitted with fireplaces, wooden floors, cosy beds and leather armchairs for an authentic mountain lodge feeling. Each cabin is unique and hand-built with authentic furniture and artefacts, and offers views of the mountains enclosing the mini-town. Wi-fi is available throughout but there’s no reception for mobile phones– a good excuse to completely disconnect.

Food and facilities

Food and dining carry great importance at Dunton Hot Springs, where the menu changes every day and ingredients are fresh, some of which are gathered in the surrounding countryside. Meals take place at a central dining table with the kitchen and chef in full view, although private dining is also an option if you wish. Breakfast is easygoing, made when and how you prefer; lunch can be packed up into a picnic for the adventurous, and dinner is accompanied by local Colorado wines. The hot springs are accessed in some of the cabins and pools around the resort or else right at the source. The spa features therapeutic and holistic treatments and massages, including the exclusive Dunton hot river rock massage and yoga and pilates sessions.

Activities at Dunton Hot Springs

Rock-climb the nearby San Juan peaks and hike or bike the mountain trails. Ride the Rockies on horseback, fly-fish or raft on the resort’s private stretch of the Dolores or take the energy level down a notch with a photography or fine art class.
