Hotel Overview

Where

A two hour drive from New York City.

Rooms at The Winvian

A world away from New York City, the 18 individually designed cottages at The Winvian are truly magical without being twee, and allow you to live out those iconic American experiences, from film, music, and literature. Choose from a classic New England style cottage with clapboard walls; the Treehouse (imagine a grown-up version of the one from Stephen King’s ‘Stand By Me,’) or our other favourites including the Mark Twain-inspired ‘Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court,’ and the old fashioned ‘Camping’ site where you can toast smores around the campfire.

Food and facilities

Take a wander around The Winvian’s gardens, and you’ll see the fresh seasonal ingredients that are used in the excellent cuisine. You can also enjoy private dining experiences that are just as unique as the cottages.

Activities at The Winvian

The Winvian immerses you in New England’s simple pleasures, from crunching through burnished gold leaves, taking a hayride through ‘Sleepy Hollow’-esque backdrops, and picking your own pumpkins around Halloween. You can also visit the Litchfield History Museum where you can learn about the civil war, and then back at The Winvian you can relax in the spa.
