Think classic all-American beach style: the spacious rooms are set in the gardens and the two and three-bedroom beach houses, which come with living areas and kitchens, line up along the sand, sunlight streaming in from the French doors opening out to the ocean and the split-level porches and balconies.

The scene outside is mirrored in the decor’s cool whites, sunshine yellows and sea greens, while locally-inspired artworks, rocking chairs, immaculate white beds and handmade Pennsylvania furniture supply that cosy beachside feeling.

Food & Drink

A favourite with locals and visitors alike, the Butterfly Café perches on one of the island’s best spots for sweeping sunset and sea views, where you can feast on fresh seafood and local, seasonal dishes, and there are children's menus here too. Post-dinner, wind down with a tropical cocktail at the Tiki Bar.

Facilities

Nestled in the hotel's 12 acres of lush tropical gardens are three swimming pools - ideal for cooling off from the sun - including a lagoon-style pool and an adults-only pool. You can also pamper yourself with an in-room massage.

Activities at Tranquility Bay

You can relax on the private white sand beach, but the spectacular turquoise sea beckons: dive in to seek out a rainbow spectrum of marine life, sail out for a fishing trip to catch your evening meal, skim the waves with some kite-boarding or kayak among the inhabited Keys islands to spy nesting sea turtles, bald eagles and possibly even a manatee or two.
