Rooms at Treebones Resort

Treebones is different – the accommodation consists of 16 yurts (circular tents with a wooden structure), all of which are spacious and comfortable. Sitting right on the cliff top, overlooking the ocean, these yurts offer a unique experience of this stunning region. You can sleep under the stars or under the tented domed roof of the yurt, which has a polished wooden floor, queen-sized beds and a deck looking over the ocean. Bathrooms are located close to the yurts. If you have your own tent, you can also camp out on one of their five campsites. For a really quirky glamping experience, you can opt for the Human Nest – a giant woven wood cylindrical nest, with room for your sleeping bag as you nestle down for the night overlooking the incredible Big Sur and the sparkling starry sky.

Food & Facilities

The Wildcoast Restaurant and Sushi Bar sits on the clifftop and the outdoors Redwood Bar has wonderful views across the ocean, which you can imbibe alongside your beer after a day travelling around the area. The food is all fresh and organic, from Treebones’ own garden. There is a heated pool with a hot tub, both of which look out to the ocean and a massage studio, too.

Hike around the Big Sur or grab a kayak and head out into the ocean. If this all sounds a bit too energetic, why not simply hang out at the main lodge or by the pool and enjoy the fabulous scenery? A session of yoga is all the more invigorating when conducted to the sound and smell of the ocean waves.
