Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Inn at Death Valley is located on a hillside in one of the driest places on the continent, looking out towards the scenic valley.

Rooms at The Inn at Death Valley

The rooms take full advantage of their position, either offering views over the oasis garden, desert landscape or Panamint Mountains. The patterned carpets, orange throws and dark furniture match the desert at its most spectacular, during golden hour, while the soft lighting and pale walls tone down the drama, infusing a sense of peace and calm at night.

The Pool Bungalow, located just steps away from the swimming pool, is a stand-alone room with solid stone walls sourced from the surrounding desert, a vaulted ceiling and splendid desert views - this is the perfect lodging experience, one that we’d definitely recommend.

Food & Drink

The Dining Room, which offers fine dining throughout the day, serves an eclectic menu with classical, continental, southwestern and Pacific Rim influences. Weather permitting, you can dine on the veranda with unobstructed view of the desert salt pans and majestic Panamint Mountains. If you're a late sleeper, try the finest smoked salmon and delicate pastries at Sunday brunch, while later in the day, you can enjoy a delicious afternoon tea.

The inn has a spring-fed pool and basketball and tennis courts, as well as a massage room and a sauna if you fancy some pampering after a day's adventures.

Activities at The Inn at Death Valley

As you are in the national park, we suggest lacing up your boots and hitting the trails. Mosaic Canyon can be reached via a 2.5-mile walk through spectacular landscapes, and the sand dunes there are ideal for a full-day excursion or a leisurely wander. For the more experienced hiker, consider a climb up to Telescope Peak, the highest spot in the park, for its incredible views - but be aware that this is a strenuous all-day hike.

If you're not a fan of walking, saddle up and go horse riding through the arid landscape, hire a mountain bike and cycle the trails or head over to the nearby Ranch at Death Valley to take a swing at the lowest golf course in the world.

The inn is located in a Dark Sky National Park, so make sure you round off your evening on the Stargazers Deck, spotting stars that can’t been seen anywhere else.
