Though the hotel is open to public bookings, The Battery is a private members’ club, with guests considered ‘resident members’ during their stay. The feel of the place and the service is correspondingly exclusive, and the décor is elegant, modern and stylish.

Rooms at The Battery

Rooms are stylishly decorated and luxurious, with edgy features like exposed brickwork in Deluxe and Courtyard rooms. Suites are vast and decorated with unique artwork, with Balcony suites having private views over the Bay Bridge. The opulent Penthouse, meanwhile, all exposed steel beams and floor-to-ceiling windows, has an outdoor patio with sweeping panoramic views over San Francisco.

Food & drink

As resident members during your stay, you’ll have the choice of The Battery’s several bars and restaurants when it comes to eating and drinking. At The House Bar, meals are served all day in a relaxed setting, or for a slightly more intimate environment, head to The Living Room for lunch and dinner. The Musto Bar, reserved for members and guests, is quiet and civilised, and the Garden Bar is a more relaxed spot to enjoy a drink.

Facilities

The Battery features state-of-the-art wellness facilities, with personal trainers on hand in the well-equipped gym and a luxurious spa where a range of massage treatments are available. By prior appointment, one-on-one consultations are also available with The Battery’s dietician Jae Berman, an academic at Stanford University.

Activities at The Battery

The Battery’s location near the waterfront in Embarcadero means the city’s iconic sights are in easy reach. The city’s landmark, the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge, is a short drive away, as is Golden Gate Park, beloved of San Franciscans for its gardens, redwoods and art installations. Well worth the boat trip is the infamous Alcatraz, an offshore prison for 150 years, which once counted America’s most notorious criminals among its inmates.
