The rooms, suites, cottages and explorer cabins are cosy and comfortable, with plenty of mountain charm, gorgeous views and deluxe bathrooms, with special features including fireplaces, Jacuzzis and balconies or patios - perfect for those who plan on doing as much luxuriating as hiking. The two-bedroom explorer cabins are nestled in the forest, set around communal fire pits and a creek, and there are cottages amongst the evergreens, offering seclusion in the wilderness, but with access to all the facilities of the lodge.

The irresistible dining options include Embers, the hotel’s fine-dining restaurant, the Timberloft Pizzeria which cooks pizza in a brick oven, Sierra, which has an imposing limestone fireplace, an outdoor patio area and fire pit; and Jackalope’s Bar & Grill, which serves up hearty burgers and sandwiches.
