Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara is just outside of Goleta, twenty minutes from Santa Barbara on the Pacific coastline.

Rooms at Ritz-Carlton Bacara

The Ritz-Carlton Bacara's rooms and suites are housed in individual villas, each with their own private patio or balcony and overlook the ocean, the hotel’s gardens or the Santa Ynez mountains. The decor is classic, with Spanish colonial influences in natural wood furnishings and ocean-blue and neutral tones. There’s high-speed internet and flatscreen TVs, and the bathrooms have deep-soaking baths and marble showers.

Food & Drink

Dine at the waterfront restaurant on a menu of contemporary global dishes, while the bar serves tempting drinks and you can also indulge in wine-tasting sessions, with wines from around the world as well as, of course, California.

There are three heated swimming pools at Bacara if the sea gets a little chilly, one of which is adults-only as part of the resort’s large spa, which offers over 60 treatments and has a sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi. There’s also fitness equipment and classes.

Activities at Ritz-Carlton Bacara

Take a tour of the surrounding wine country, visiting vineyards and flying over the scenic countryside – with you in the pilot’s seat if you so wish. Get active at one of Santa Barbara’s golf courses or serve and volley on the resort’s tennis courts. The nearby sea sets the scene for surfing, windsurfing, paddle-boarding and even whale watching, or take a horse ride along the beach.
