Hotel Overview

Sense of place

A stone’s throw from Paso Robles’ historic town centre, Hotel Cheval is a traditional, homely boutique hotel with a friendly atmosphere and an emphasis on personalised service.

Rooms at Hotel Cheval

Each of Hotel Cheval’s rooms is named for a different celebrated horse, such as Hightower, Rosebud and Firetail, and all are rustic and cosy in design with exposed wooden beams and wooden shutters. Deluxe and luxury rooms feature fireplaces and high, vaulted ceilings, with unique artworks adorning the walls.

Food & drink

Hotel Cheval serves a buffet breakfast daily, with hot and cold options available. There are a number of exceptional restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, with traditional Italian Il Cortile one of our picks. The hotel also has a bar, the Pony Club, where premium local wines are served along with small plates. Paso Robles is one of the USA’s leading wine regions and is home to over 200 wineries; the hotel staff can help you plan a wine excursion as well as recommending restaurants and assisting with reservations.

Facilities

Hotel Cheval is home to a fully equipped spa where you can recharge with a range of treatments and therapies including heated stone massages and body scrubs using natural ingredients. The hotel does not have its own gym, but included in your stay is access to a nearby fitness centre.

Activities at Hotel Cheval

Wine is undoubtedly the star of Paso Robles and the surrounding area, and there are hundreds of wineries to explore. Private, customised wine excursions can be arranged to take in the wines and wineries of your choice, whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned oenophile. There are all kinds of producers in the area, from large-scale operations to boutique, family-run winemakers, as well as a number of up-and-coming garagistes, who produce bold, full-bodied red wines.
