There is a choice of staying in the historic buildings or the contemporary buildings. The historic rooms are former residences of US Army officers and have beautiful San Francisco skyline views, and the two-bedroom suites, which offer additional space including sitting areas, are great for families. The contemporary rooms and suites, set on the hillside, have views across the Golden Gate Bridge and the bay.

Most rooms come with fireplaces, and they also have floor-to-ceiling windows, large LCD TVs and mini-fridges. Some have patios or decks to relax on.

Food & Drink

The acclaimed Murray Circle restaurant offers gourmet Californian cuisine which makes the most of fresh, local and seasonal produce, alongside irresistible sweet treats from the pastry chef. Enjoy it all either inside in the classic dining room or outside on the porch, looking out over San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge. Accompany your meal with a glass of wine from the impressive wine cellar, which features local artisan wines as well as international favourites. If you're inspired by the food, sign up for a class at the cooking school.

Meanwhile, at the Farley Bar, you can enjoy a cocktail or two by the fire in one of the big leather chairs, and don't miss wine hour between 4 and 6pm. You can also enjoy in-room personalised cocktails, prepared by your bartender.
