Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Casa Laguna is  in the heart of Laguna Beach, nestled in lush tropical greenery on a hillside overlooking the Pacific Ocean. Though this collection of Mission-style buildings have been restored, updated and added to many times over their long history, there is still a traditional atmosphere here. Unique design touches are a nod to its history as an artists’ colony, in keeping with the vibrant, bohemian atmosphere of Laguna Beach.

Rooms at Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa

The 23 rooms and suites were initially built in the early 1920s and have been lovingly restored. Colourful, quirky and vibrant, they retain hints of the hotel’s past and Spanish-style architecture with the use of terracotta and red hues, alongside bespoke furnishings, and acclaimed designer Martyn Lawrence Bullard has used Moorish tiles and ceramics, as well as tailor-made fabrics, to give the rooms an Arabian feel.

Many rooms feature views over the Pacific Ocean and Catalina Island, and some have private balconies. For extra privacy choose the Bungalow Suite, a standalone property dating from the 1930s with a private entrance and stunning sea views.

Food & drink

A continental breakfast is served every morning, with local Equator Coffee, homemade breads and pastries, fresh fruits and quiches. At lunchtime, a range of Mediterranean small plates are on offer, with chef Gabriel Woo combining Italian and Spanish influences in his use of fresh, seasonal ingredients. All food can be ordered to go, so you can take it with you to the beach or on a day excursion.

Facilities

Wellness treatments are available in the indoor and outdoor spa, where you can indulge in a deep tissue massage, a hot stone treatment or reflexology. There is also an outdoor pool, open year-round, and a sun terrace and garden where you can sit and enjoy one of the books from the hotel’s library.

Activities at Casa Laguna Hotel & Spa

It is a short walk to Victoria Beach, which has an exclusive feel, while downtown Laguna beach, about a mile away, has numerous boutiques, bars and restaurants, as well as over 100 art galleries and studios.

Laguna Beach has long attracted the stars of Hollywood, and is renowned for its artistic scene, and the famous Festival of the Arts and Pageant of the Masters are yearly art shows held each summer. Laguna Art Museum houses one of the finest collections of Californian art in the state, and the Laguna Playhouse is the oldest continually running theatre on the West Coast. There’s also the Sawdust Art Festival between July and August and November and December, a pop-up village where Laguna Beach artists exhibit their artwork and handicrafts.
