Hotel Overview

Sense of place

The hotel is located near Carmel, on the Central Coast of California, just to the south of San Francisco.

Rooms at Carmel Valley Ranch

Carmel Valley Ranch has 139 suites from which to choose, all of which have fireplaces, wooden ceilings, polished stone walls and private decks. The Oak Grove Suite has a dining room, which is ideal if you are travelling as a group or in a family, and it also has fabulous valley views.

Food & Drink

There are two main dining options at Carmel Valley Ranch: the Lodge Restaurant and the River Ranch Cafe. The emphasis is on local, organic food and much of the produce is from the ranch’s own organic garden. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, you can dine inside or outside and the cafe is based at the pool in a 132-year-old building, serving fresh salads, grills, sandwiches and various drinks from healthy smoothies to beer and wine. There is also a snack bar at the Golf Clubhouse, which serves sandwiches and light bites.

Facilities

Take some time out at Spa Aiyana or lounge around by the two salt-water swimming pools. Golfers will be sure to take advantage of the 18-hole course, which has stunning views through the valley and nine tennis courts and two gyms should mean there’s plenty to keep active types busy!

Activities at Carmel Valley Ranch

Carmel Valley Ranch has a strong ‘play’ theme, so there is no shortage of activities for children and adults alike, from sports like golf, tennis and swimming, and hiking, running and biking along the resort trails, to cooking classes at the Adventure Kitchen and the Bee Experience at the resort’s hives. There is also a pinot noir vineyard and – to keep the kids entertained – the Ranch Hand Kids Camps.
