The Brewery Gulch Inn is surrounded by forest, clutching to a bluff that looks out over Mendocino Bay and Smuggler’s Cove, roughly a mile south of Mendocino town.

There are just ten rooms, all named after a bird or tree in the area, and with a fireplace, hand-crafted furnishings and sweeping sea views. Bathrooms come with Asprey amenities and a few have jetted bath tubs. The Osprey is perhaps the most sought-after guestroom, given its large windows that drench the room in light.

Food & Drink

Indulge in a generous breakfast to start the day: choose from eggs, bacon and sausages, pancakes and fresh pastries. For one hour every evening you can enjoy a complimentary buffet dinner, with treats like goat’s cheese tartlets and polenta cakes, made from locally sourced produce, served along with fine wine. Dine in the Great Room, on the patio outdoors or in the comfort of your room. Don’t forget to relax on the back deck while taking in the views of the sunset, cup of tea (or glass of wine) in hand.

The Great Room is an inviting space with its large, wood-burning fireplace, and rich wood and leather furniture – perfect for cosying up after a day of exploring.
