In the knowJamaica Inn has a long association with Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, who was friends with the hotel’s owners. It also features in the first Bond novel, Dr No, where Fleming described Jamaica Inn’s bar as the place to be seen on the island - and Teddy's Bar is said to be where Fleming coined the famous 'shaken, not stirred' phrase that has become synonymous with Bond.

Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Jamaica Inn has a beautiful setting on the white sands of the north coast of Jamaica, surrounded by tropical greenery.

Rooms at Jamaica Inn

The attractive suites, bungalows and cottages have a simple decor of fresh white and various shades of blue, reflecting the glorious colours of the ocean on your doorstep. There are no TVs, so you can switch off and relax. Enjoy a comfortable night's sleep in the plush, traditional Jamaican beds and sit out on your spacious stone terrace or balcony, overlooking the gardens or the beach and the Caribbean Sea.

Some cottages have private plunge pools, while the secluded White Suite sits on its own peninsula and has expansive private gardens, including a large pool, with panoramic Caribbean views.

Food & Drink

Dining at Jamaica Inn gives you the chance to sample some of the island's most authentic, typical cuisine, expertly prepared with fresh produce to create exquisite dishes full of explosive Caribbean flavour. Lunch is a casual affair on the oceanfront, followed by sunset cocktails and memorable dinners on the restaurant's terrace, featuring specialities such as coconut shrimp and the catch of the day grilled and served with lemongrass butter. For a special occasion or romantic evening, dine with the sand between your toes and sublime sunset views down on the beachfront, or enjoy a candlelit dinner in the privacy of your own room.

Indulge in complimentary rumology classes, held each week at Teddy's Bar on the beach. Find out more about Jamaica's rich rum history, taste a range of rums and learn how to make rum-based drinks including classics such as Pina Colada as well as Teddy's signature Planters Punch.

Facilities

The spa, nestled in the cliffs of Cutlass Bay, combines the best healing elements of nature with the vibrant culture of the Caribbean, in a serene outdoor, oceanfront setting. Choose from a variety of treatments, all crafted with plants from organic, sustainable farms nearby, and afterwards, sip on a glass of iced lemongrass tea with the sound of soft waves lapping at the cliffs below.

Those who like to keep fit while they're away can make the most of circuit and personal training, or for something a little more zen, take up one of the private yoga classes.

Activities at Jamaica Inn

As well as relaxing in a hammock or on the crescent-shaped private beach (complimentary fruit punches are served on the beach each morning), Jamaica Inn’s beachfront location also means you can make the most of water sports - try kayaking, sunfish sailing or paddle boarding, as well as snorkelling, with equipment available for guests.
