Depending on your trip, accommodation varies from a humble tent in the wilderness to a private island retreat. Whilst most excursions involve camping, you can also stay in one of three separate rustically-refined properties, dotted around the park.

The log cabin is perfect for small groups of friends, and provides a more comfortable experience if camping’s not your thing. Its enormous fireplace, cosy wood-fired sauna and large sunset-viewing deck make great social spaces, all overlooking Surprise Lake.

Catering for up to 15, the cottage outpost is slightly more spacious, and features a floating log-fired sauna, perfect for warming up after a freshwater swim.

Only couples are allowed to stay in the island retreat, situated right in the middle of Kawawaymog Lake. An ex-park ranger’s home, this cosy cabin features a spacious upper deck and offers guests total privacy.

Delicious gourmet country meals are slowly cooked over the camp fire on the camping excursions, whilst lodge guests, including those on the island retreat, can order groceries for the duration of their stay. If you stay in the log cabin, a cabin cook is on hand to rustle up tasty comfort food and freshly baked goodies.

Summer activities include guided canoeing and hiking excursions, trout fishing, swimming, mountain biking and wildlife viewing. Ice fishing, snowshoeing, skiing and dog sledding take place in winter.
