Hotel Overview

Sense of place

In the midst of 296 acres of forests, mountains and valleys, Clearwater Springs Ranch is a rustic lodge hotel which reflects the natural beauty of its surroundings. Owners Kurt and Tania are friendly and welcoming, and you’ll feel like a welcome guest in their home.

Rooms at Clearwater Springs Ranch

Rooms are spacious and rustic in design, with handmade and antique wooden furniture. The rooms are named for animals which live wild in this area: the top-floor Wolf Room has its own private balcony, the Bear Room features a four-poster bed, and the Moose Room is the largest and sleeps four. The standalone Ludtke Cottage dates from the 1930s and offers unparalleled wilderness seclusion.

Food and drink

Delicious, home-cooked food is provided at breakfast and dinnertime, based on fresh produce from the ranch and surrounding area; you have the choice of enjoying it in the privacy of your room or with other guests and the owners, Tania and Kurt, around the communal dinner table. When the weather suits in spring and summer, dinner is served on the outdoor terrace, meaning you may be able to engage in some wildlife watching as you enjoy your food.

Facilities

Clearwater Springs has a range of amenities to make sure your stay is as relaxing as possible, including a large outdoor hot tub, a sitting room with a large open fire, and telescopes for you to stargaze when the sun goes down. Children younger than ten are not permitted to stay in the hotel.

Activities at Clearwater Springs Ranch

In the summer, hike through the ranch’s meadows and forests, or in Wells Gray Park. Guided horse riding is also available nearby, as are canoeing and white water rafting on the rivers and lakes. The majestic Helmcken Falls, the fourth highest waterfall in Canada, is ten minutes away. Wildlife watching is a year-round activity here, with black bears roaming the meadows in the spring, huge sandhill cranes in spring and summer and moose in the winter. Deer roam the ranch year-round.
