Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Nestled in a beautiful valley in Banff National Park, close to the village of Lake Louise, the Post Hotel & Spa offers a stunning panorama of the Canadian Rockies. Originally built in 1942, the hotel resonates with the spirit of its colourful founder, Sir Norman Watson.

Rooms at The Post Hotel & Spa

Quintessentially alpine in design, the rooms, suites and cabins have a warm and welcoming feel, and have plenty of character. They feature natural materials such as wood furnishings, alongside cosy wood-burning fireplaces and spectacular mountain views. The deluxe bathrooms come with invigorating whirlpool tubs - perfect to relax in after a busy day on the slopes, while some also have cosy sitting areas.

The suites are ideal for those looking for additional space, with some featuring two floors and multiple bedrooms, alongside stunning views of the mountains to the west and lush forests to the east. Meanwhile, the charming red-roofed cabins are perfect for those looking for more privacy: they are scattered throughout the hotel’s gardens and have mesmerising views of the rushing Pipestone River. They feature spacious sitting areas with elegant leather sofas and fireplaces, and cosy terraces to admire the sunset from.

Food & Drink

The hotel’s award-winning restaurant has an impressive reputation, and equally reputable is the wine cellar, stocked with over 25,500 bottles and more than 2,200 selections of the finest wines. Don’t miss the delectable Wine Maker’s Dinners. Enjoy the hotel's award-winning menu, which serves gourmet dishes based on fresh produce and local game, and perfectly accompanied with fine wines from the cellar.

For a more intimate evening, dine at Fondue Stubli, where a selection of traditional Swiss-style fondues are on the menu, including cheese fondue and fondue bourguignonne. Head to The Outpost for hearty favourites with a traditional English pub ambience, or the Sir Norman Lounge for light bites and pre-dinner cocktails in a cosy and relaxed setting.

Facilities

If your muscles are complaining after a few long ski runs or hiking to spot the nearby wildlife, soothe your limbs in the Temple Mountain Spa, where a variety of treatments and rituals are available, all created using a harmonious blend of products and techniques to relax your body and mind. There's also a rejuvenating Roman-inspired saltwater pool and a state-of-the-art fitness centre.

Activities at The Post Hotel & Spa

Lake Louise is fantastic for adventure activities year-round. During the summer season, go hiking, horse riding, rock climbing, golfing or white water rafting along the rushing river, while in the winter, downhill, cross-country and heli-skiing are the main events. During these snowy months, you can also try ice walking, fishing and skating, or enjoy a snowmobiling or dog-sledding adventure through the magical snow-covered forests.

For a truly memorable experience, discover the mountainous area from above on a helicopter tour.
