Luxury Holidays in Bermuda

The tiny island of Bermuda (it's just 20 miles long and two miles wide) sits in the Atlantic Ocean just off the east coast of the United States, and ticks an awful lot of boxes. It benefits from regular British Airways flights and a shorter flying time than the Caribbean, not to mention the beautiful pink sand beaches, natural wonders such as awe-inspiring caves and grottoes, idyllic islands and islets, rocky coves, turquoise waters and lots and lots of sunshine. All of this (and more) makes Bermuda the perfect destination for a hassle-free luxury beach holiday.

What to do and see in Bermuda? The island is a British overseas territory and showcases British, American and other eclectic influences from around the world in everything from its pastel-coloured mansions to its historic towns and forts, especially in the capital, Hamilton. Bermuda holidays are great for sailing, diving and golf too. In between adventures, exploring and relaxing on postcard-perfect beaches such as Horseshoe Bay, you can also make the most of the abundance of fresh fish, while rum comes in everything from cakes to cocktails.

HIGHLIGHTS OF BERMUDA

Pink sand beaches. Finely-ground coral is what creates Bermuda's distinctive pink sand beaches, and what makes it such a romantic honeymoon destination.

Crystal Caves. It's not just the beaches that are beautiful: take a trip underground at the Crystal Caves, said to be millions of years old, to see beautiful azure waters and rock-formed chandeliers.

History, culture and more. Head to the Royal Naval Dockyard complex in Sandys to see the 19th-century fort, the National Museum and the aquarium, sample the famous rum cakes, watch artisans at work and buy a pair of Bermuda shorts. If you're there on a Monday in the summer, enjoy Destination Dockyard, a lively street party. Alternatively join Harbour Nights every Wednesday night at Front Street, Hamilton, for live entertainment, local arts and crafts and children's activities - a great spot to soak up the Bermudan way of life.
