Rooms at Kamalame Cay

This barefoot chic Caribbean escape has luxurious one, two and three bedroom bougainvillea-draped bungalows and beach houses, which open up to ocean views and cooling sea breezes. The intimate cottage suites are built from native stone and contain Indonesian furniture while the bungalows are elevated along the beach for the best views at sunrise and sunset. You asked for seclusion, so don’t be surprised that there are no televisions or telephones in the rooms!

Food and Facilities

Most meals take place in the plantation style Great House; however, guests can ask to take lunch on a deserted isle, dine a deux on the beach or grab a quick bite in between dips in the pool at the Tiki Bar & Beach Grill. With an emphasis on fresh fish and seafood and locally sourced and in season tropical fruit and produce, the restaurant at the Great House is among the finest in the Bahamas, where you can expect delicious dishes of pan seared hog snapper with avocado salad and slow roasted pork belly with coconut rice and gratin potato cake.

Activities at Kamalame Cay

Just a mile from Kamalame’s shores, an underwater adventure awaits along the world’s third longest barrier reef. Alternatively, make use of the free windsurfers, snorkelling gear, bicycles and tennis courts or take a kayak and paddle through the inland creeks. However many people come to Kamalame Cay to bonefish. The undisturbed shallow waters provide excellent conditions and offer some of the best bone fishing in the world. After a day out on the waters, be treated to a therapeutic massage at the spa.
