You’ll fly into Dubai and be transferred to your downtown hotel, the Address Downtown, with unrivalled views of the skyline-dominating Burj Khalifa.  Lavish and modern, Dubai is one of the ultimate luxury destinations, but get to know the ‘vintage’ side of the city with a visit to the Bastakia Quarter and its lanes lined with restored merchants’ houses, art galleries and inviting cafés.

Shopping is one of the pastimes of choice in these parts and your hotel is well-placed to lose yourself in one of the world’s biggest retail havens, the Dubai Mall; afterwards restore your energy with a treatment in the hotel’s sumptuous spa and take advantage of the city’s sparkling dining-out scene.

From one luxurious pad to another and one country to the next, it’s just over the border to the north of Oman and the secluded Six Senses Zighy Bay. Here you’ll have three nights to completely disconnect and take in the scenic surrounds of the rocky mountains to the back and the greeny Gulf of Oman to the front, both of which can be explored by hiking, wakeboarding, biking, snorkelling or whatever your heart desires.

Climb southwards into the ruggedly beautiful mountains to arrive at your chalet-style retreat of Hatta Fort, back on the Dubai side of the border. Here you can venture out into the hilltops with an off-road four by four excursion over the rocky terrain, visiting crystal-clear wadi lakes along the way.

Your next stop is Oman’s exotic first city, Muscat, and your night here will be spent at the chic and fabulous Chedi. Take the afternoon to stroll the maze of stalls of Muttrah's souk and relax in the amazing spa with its 103m outdoor lap pool before enjoying an authentic Arabian dinner under the stars with mezze, shwarma and shiska in the hotel’s lantern-lit courtyard.

You’ll travel along an ancient trade route from Muscat to Nizwa to head in the direction of your mountain camp, The View, passing the pale golden strongholds of Nizwa and Rustaq forts along the way. Once you’ve settled into your eco-luxe tent, you can set about getting to know the local area with a hike or bike ride on one of the scenic paths that wind through the mountains; enjoy a swim at altitude in the infinity pool or simply sit back and take in the rocky landscape.

An Arabian Nights-style camp in the pinky-gold dunes of Wahiba Sands is the next stop on your Middle Eastern journey - the richly-decorated Desert Nights Camp makes for atmospheric surrounds. Quad-bike or dune-bash over the rippling sands for a tour of the surrounds, dabble in a little sand boarding or roam the dunes with a leisurely camel ride. By night, we can arrange a private barbecue atop one of the encircling dunes to appreciate the clearest night sky you’ll ever see.

After a couple of days in the untouched mountains and desert of Oman’s interior, you’ll head to the coast again and spend your last few nights back at The Chedi. Wind down on the hotel’s private beach or in one of the poolside cabanas, witness the grandeur of the waterfront Sultan’s Palace and the beautiful Grand Mosque and enjoy the final couple of nights of your exotic escape.
