Luxury Holidays in Oman

After years of isolation, Oman is coming out of its shell and is now a popular choice for an exotic luxury holiday or honeymoon.

Dramatic scenery abounds ranging from camel-coloured mountains and golden dunes to crystal-clear 'wadis', lush green valleys and huge tracts of empty desert.

Head to the souks in the capital Muscat for a fascinating blend of old and new, and outside the city, allow yourself to be pampered at one of Oman's luxury beach hotels. For a slice of eastern adventure, try luxury camping on a desert safari.

Sunrise on Wahiba Sands. Having camel-trekked and spent the night in tents, Bedouin style, wake up to the sun rising over the undulating dunes.

Wadi swimming. Surrounded by huge boulders, waterfalls, and luxuriant palm trees, Oman’s beautiful turquoise rock pools or ‘wadis’ are irresistible for taking a dip.

Jebel Shams is Oman’s highest mountain, at over 3,000m, while alongside it is the Wadi Ghul canyon, Oman’s equivalent of the Grand Canyon. This is a trekker’s paradise, with dramatic views and a welcome breeze after the heat of Muscat.
