Hotel Overview

Sense of place

Hotel Sahrai’s aesthetic delicately balances the traditional and the modern, and the Western and the Moroccan; broadly speaking, the rooms have a contemporary, more urban décor, while the public spaces are more traditionally Moorish. However, elements of both are combined across the hotel, giving the whole property a unique aesthetic.

Rooms at Hotel Sahrai

Hotel Sahrai’s luxurious rooms and suites exhibit the same blend of old and new as the rest of the hotel. Intricate Moorish designs adorn the plaster on some of the walls; the rooms are lit by modern light fittings based on the design of traditional Moroccan lamps. Beautiful vases are among the unique design pieces which give the rooms their own character, while the beds and chairs have a retro, mid-20th-century feel.

Food & drink

There’s plenty of eating and drinking options at Hotel Sahrai, with each space following the same stylish aesthetic as the guest rooms. At Relais de Paris, a wide range of gourmet French cuisine is on offer; meat lovers will particularly like its brasserie-style menu. Head to Amaraz for more traditionally Moroccan fare, with hearty tagines, pastillas and harira soups among the classic dishes available. The Rooftop and Arcades bars are stylish spots for a nightcap.

Facilities

The hotel is home to the luxurious Givenchy Spa, a beautiful space of carved stone and marble where a range of facilities and therapies are available. Body scrubs, massages, facials and body wraps are among the treatments on offer at the spa.

Activities at Hotel Sahrai

A range of activities can be arranged through the hotel. If you’ve developed a taste for the fantastic Moroccan cuisine at the Amaraz restaurant, you can learn a few tricks of the trade yourself with cookery classes in the kitchen. To see where the ingredients come from, you can also pay a visit to a nearby organic goat farm, where you can help out with milking, learn about cheese making, and sample local honey, olive oil and tea, among other products. The hotel is well placed for exploring Fes, with attractions nearby including the Borj Fes shopping mall; the city’s old Medina is around ten minutes’ drive away.
