Hotel Overview

Sense of Place

Dar Zemora sits in the Palmeraie, a huge palm oasis just north of Marrakech. Renowned as a haven of peace and beauty, the oasis is home to several top-end resorts, and several hundred thousand palm trees, but is just a stone’s throw from the madness of Marrakech’s medina.

Rooms at Dar Zemora

Dar Zemora is built in the style of a classic Moroccan palace, with rough adobe walls, niches lit with lamps, and luxuriant rugs and carpets covering the stone floors. Each of the rooms and suites follows a similar aesthetic while having unique touches: the Safra room has a beautiful bathroom with huge, high arches, the Mecila room is decorated with ornately carved Berber wooden furniture, and the Perla suite has a huge private roof terrace overlooking the Palmeraie.

Food & Drink

Dar Zemora’s dining room is a wonderfully atmospheric space, with deep red walls, warm lighting and paintings of Berber scenes adorning the walls. Breakfast consists of a large spread of seasonal fruit, freshly pressed juice, home-baked bread and eggs, and lunch is a (comparatively) light two-course affair, while dinner consists of three or four courses of exquisite traditional and modern Moroccan cuisine. Fruit, vegetables and even olive oil are all produced on site, and special dietary requirements can happily be catered for with advance notice.

Facilities

Dar Zemora’s peaceful Treatment Room is housed in its own building in the beautiful grounds, and is the place to go for a range of pampering treatments including facials, manicures, pedicures and massages. Upstairs there is a traditional hammam. There is also an outdoor swimming pool in the gardens.

Activities at Dar Zemora

Dar Zemora is just ten minutes’ drive from Marrakech’s famous medina, where you can absorb the city’s historic atmosphere and get lost in winding souks and alleyways. Outside of the city, the hotel can arrange a variety of activities, such as trips to the Atlas Mountains, hot air ballooning, quad biking and camel riding. Within the hotel’s gardens there is a croquet lawn, which is a lovely place to pass an afternoon.

Hotel location

Dar Zemora is just 20 minutes by private transfer from Marrakech Airport.
